mistaken identity is a go! blackwatermage April 6 2010, 12:18:41 UTC
Neirenn walked into the cafe with a few books under her arm, having been looking for a reason to stretch her legs. Life in the city had resumed its usual pace, although it seemed to have taken in quite a number of new arrivals. Never one to leave curiosity unsatisfied, she was hoping that coming here would give her a chance to run into one or two of them off of the network. And if not, well, they did rather good pastries and she had a pocket full of glass leaves ( ... )

Xion had made sure her hood was a little more over her face when a non-native entered the cafe. She wasn't sure what it was about the people who lived here, but... she got the feeling that they wouldn't bother her. And they needed did, unless she was buying something.

But this person was clearly not from here, just because she looked so different from them. So Xion withdrew a little more, until the woman walked over and spoke. But who was she talking to?

Xion glanced to the empty tables beside her, very puzzled because she'd never seen this woman before. "Me?" she finally replied, hood still covering her face but sounding distinctly female.

Neirenn's eyebrows shot up at the voice that issued from beneath the hood--perplexed and quite obviously female. So she's another one like him? she thought. Of course, she'd suspected that there was more than one, as that cloak of the boy's had clearly been from some sort of order or even "Organization," the word she'd heard and seen so much.

"I guess not," she said, managing to mostly mask her surprise. Well... this was problematic. The boy had been quite anxious that Neirenn not know who he was and that their meeting be a secret. Saying that she'd mistaken the girl for someone who shared that outfit probably wouldn't be a good idea. "Sorry--the light in here is bad. I know someone else who likes to wear that kind of clothing," she explained in as casual a tone of voice she could manage.

There was only one person about her size that wore the same type of clothes, and that was Roxas. She opened her mouth to ask, but... there were a few problems with it. One being that she was trying to hide Roxas- it wasn't a secret that she knew him, but she'd rather nothing risk it.

The other part was the sudden irritation she felt at the idea of being mistaken for Roxas. Better not talk about that.

So instead the girl just nodded, shyly looking back down at her drink.

...Well. Neirenn figured she had two options now: mumble awkwardly and scuttle off in embarrassment and apprehension after that mistake, or she could try and talk to whoever this girl was now that she knew it wasn't the boy. Though it was hard to tell if she was irritated or simply unwilling to speak... it was impossible to tell with that hood up.

"So--are you new to the city?" she asked. "There seem to be a lot of new faces around lately; it's rather strange." Option two, definitely. Neirenn wasn't one to leave her curiosity unsatisfied--maybe it was risky, but knowing was worth it.

Anyway, she couldn't know what the risk even was if she just left without trying.
