Apart from the random exploration parties sent to explore the mysteries of the "Castle", day to day life was quite boring in Paixao for Priere. Not a lot of training possibilities, no demon hunting, not a lot of fun places to visit... she was getting bored quite fast. And since she still wasn't bored enough to actually do housework along with Culotte, she slipped out into the streets, ready to just hang out. After all, exploring the city did have it's advantages.

Since she lived near Joutenheim, it wasn't too long before she wandered near the gate, curious about the commotion (she didn't even know the "zombie"-natives could be scared).

While part of her really was curious about what was beyond that gate they refused to open, and that she really didn't care much for the natives around, she couldn't just stand there. "HEY!" she screamed. "What the hell is your problem? Let go of him!" Though to be honest, she was pretty sure what his "problem" was.

By this point, Rishfee had quite frankly seen red at the native's lack of answers and lack of excuses. The man had received a few hard knocks against the gate itself courtesy of the Immortal, and the firm promise that if needed he would be used as a battering ram until either the gate gave way or his skull did.

Rishfee was panicing. That was evident. He couldn't be here, not now and not until Aphmau had been recovered... He didn't even want to imagine what the Corsair would do to her even without finding out her real identity. He was supposed to have protected her. Not died before she made it back to safety! In his mind this was the void - and he was useless here ( ... )

Squall had seen quite a number of things on his trips out to the gates. Finding someone viciously attacking the gate (to the consternation of the nearby natives) was both new and unexpected. Admittedly, he was well aware of the fact that the place didn't always have the best timing but why would anyone try something so obviously futile?

Not to mention the fact that the SeeD in him was quite happily pointing out that it would by rather unfortunate to have such a beautiful weapon broken by the gate. It wasn't like it was really going to yield to force, after all.

"That isn't going to get anywhere," he spoke up as he drew near, pitching his voice to be heard even across the clamor. Hopefully, they would even actually be listened to.

Bad timing was definitely understatement of the century. By now Rishfee was getting rather tired, the most he'd managed to get out of the gate were some rather ugly marks where kilij had obviously met door. Examination of the gouges left by the sword turned unfruitful. While the thing had done quite a lot of damage in certain places, the gate was very much stable. It seemed almost to be constructed of a lump of steel. This pace was useless. Aphmau's body would likely be under the Cyan deep before he managed to get that gate down ( ... )

'Child'? If Priere was a bit annoyed at first, she was getting rather angry and fast. She twirled out her baton, ready to go smack some sense into the strange man, but he finally let go of the old gatekeeper to focus on breaking his sword. She ignored him and focused on his victim. At least the old man was fine, looked more scared then hurt.

Turning back her attention to the man in blue, her weapon still in her hands but at rest, she couldn't help but regain some of her previous annoyance. "If bursting down that stupid gate was enough to get us back home, don't you think we'd have done it already?" she said, not bothering with the fact he technically hadn't asked her. She really didn't know what was beyond that gate, but it was pretty logical to think that if it was the way out, it would have been tried a long time ago.

Plus, she had the feeling she could take down that gate pretty easy.
