While Vyers quite enjoyed the familiarity of the scenery, there were other matters on his mind. Though he had tried to push the matter out of his mind, the encounter with the Heartless still disturbed him. That tired feeling... What was it? It was gone now, which offered him some comfort, but was it really just a consequence of waking up so early.

Ah, but he was probably worrying too much. If it was gone, there was no reason to worry, right? I have not woken up so early in a long time. That is all, he repeated to himself. Have I become so much of a worrywart? Of course not. Perhaps another fight would help to ease his worries. He and Laharl were long overdue for one, after all.

"It occurs to me that I have been a poor rival as of late," he said thoughtfully, a finger delicately resting against his chin. "How terrible of moi... This should be remedied immediately!" In a single, graceful, overdramatic move Vyers turned and pointed at Laharl. "Let us do battle, my eternal rival!"

Flonne blinked at Vyers in mild surprise for a moment before smiling beatifically, waving a dismissive hand. "Don't be silly, Mid-boss-san!" she said brightly. "You're not strong enough to be his rival!" She looked to Laharl and Etna, the same clueless smile on her face.

"Right?"

Just when Etna was getting into a groove with beating down Heartless. Damn Mid-boss, getting in the way, as always. Why can't he just go bother someone else?

Etna dug her spear into the ground and leaned forward against it. "I'd say. We're wasting time, go away Mid-boss."

The exasperated look Laharl leveled at Vyers was also most definitely not an act. Not in the slightest.

"Here? Now?" the young demon uttered incredulously.

Laharl knew they had to act 'normal', but what the hell? Why now? They had better things to do right now! This was hardly the time to play this stupid game. Then again, when had Mid-Boss' timing for these things EVER good?

"Not to mention too stupid," he added to Flonne's observation. As annoyed as Laharl was, seeing his old man twitch as Etna used the much disliked name was somehow more amusing than it even used to be.

How short time could be, especially when it came to that vile name. Each use made him recoil as though struck. Vyers seethed once the verbal onslaught was finished. Not strong enough? Too stupid?! "Enough! You will regret underestimating moi!" Energy gathered above Vyers as he threw a hand up in the air. He swung it downward in a graceful arc, sending the energy ball flying toward them.

Battle for appearance's sake was long forgotten by now. This was about the principle of the matter! He was certainly capable of being Laharl's rival, even if it was a false one, and even if Laharl refused to accept it!
