Kairi was more than pleased that she could do something for the demon. After all, it was as she said: she did have some making up to him to do after that stray message board comment exploded so long ago. Yes, she still remembered it; no doubt he did too, even if he'd never admit to it. So after her conversation with him she went right to baking, cheerfully whistling a tune.
When she finished, she wrote a quick note and left it out for Riku and Sora, explaining that she was off visiting another friend of hers, and left some extra sugar cookies covered on the table besides it for them.
Grabbing a dark crimson cloak to shield her from the storm outside, and a basket to protect her freshly made cookies, she made it out to the nearby train station and caught her ride over to the Actua Are.
And at long last, she finds herself heading nearby, catching sight of only one person sitting outside. Well, that must be him, right? They'd never actually met face to face, she realizes.
"Uh?" The demon boy's head snapped up at the voice, having gotten lost in his thoughts.
Though he'd never met Kairi face to face, he did faintly recognize her face from the journals, and more so her voice. They'd spoken at least a few times over the, ugh, year he'd been here.
"Yeah. That's me," he replied, straightening a bit as he looked up at her. "Kairi, right?" he added, testing if he was pronouncing it right.
So, she really had baked him cookies then? Huh. That was pretty quick. Well, all things considering anyways. Ugh, he was getting more patient lately too, wasn't he? Waiting ten minutes for food once wouldn't have been good enough. Dammit. When had this happened?!
"Yes, that's right!" she says with a smile, more confidently approaching him now that she knew she had the right person.
"So, I baked you sugar cookies, since I figured... you can't really go wrong with them, right?" She chuckles softly. "And I promise, there's no poison in them."
"Sugar cookies, huh?" he responded, eying her basket. He couldn't say he'd had 'sugar' cookies before, but as long as they were stupidly sweet, he'd eat them. (Though, the very name did sound like something Etna would eat.)
"It's not poison in them I'm worried about," Laharl added, as he rose to his feet. Clearly Kairi had never had any cooking that was so bad it might as well have been poison, or she wouldn't be saying that.
She's about to say something in reply to the "poison" comment, but then he stands and her comment dies before it makes it into the open. Well. He's short. She'd had so many conversations with the demon over her time in Paixao that she always just... pictured him taller. The big demon overlord always acting so tough!
No wonder.
Unfortunately for him, Kairi wasn't about to help his act. The hair! The scarf! The ears and eyes! She couldn't help herself, he was simply adorable! So, without even thinking of personal boundaries or what he could do to her, she reaches out and pats a hand into his hair. "You're so cute!" She prods gently at an antennae.
