A few more replies on the board and Riku would be ready to start the scouting party. Traveling through the Destiny Islands would be nice enough, but he knew he couldn’t stop and smell the sea breeze for too long. Besides, he already had an important reminder of home: Kairi. To say he was relieved to have a friend here was an understatement, since this time through, the king wasn’t there to back him
( ... )
It was a relief, to say the least, to find that Riku was here and safe. But that Riku was anywhere other than standing right next to him when they had went through that door at the same time, well, it just didn't make sense.
Not to mention that Riku didn't actually seem all that startled at being dropped into an unfamiliar world. Of course, the case could be made that Riku didn't want to appear surprised, but that didn't really seem to be it. There was a difference between not acting surprised and not being surprised.
Oblivious. As always. Not that Riku really expected Sora to know what was going on. He was learning too, after all. He heaved a very abbreviated sigh and smiled, glad to know where both Kairi AND Sora were now. The older teen slid his other arm through the remaining backback strap and crossed his arms. His smile faded with the reality of the situation everyone was in.
"Castle Oblivion is going on," Riku replied flatly. "Took you long enough to get here." Looking up at the entrance Sora just came from, he watched the new arrivals come in.
"Welcome to Paixao. It's one of the castle's floors. And I don't know how, but there are a lot of Organization members still kicking."
"Castle Obvlion?" Even though the name gave Sora an odd feeling of deja vu, Riku would have to give more of an explanation than just that. And what did Riku mean by 'long enough?' They had gone through that door at the same time. "How long have you been here?"
But the rest of Sora's questions about this place would have to wait, because there was suddenly a much more pressing matter at hand. "The- the Organization!? But how? I thought we defeated them."
"About a week. Kairi's here too." Riku leaned his shoulder against a lamp post, catching the look on Sora's face. "The castle's a stronghold for the Organization. Or was before we defeated the members staying there. Long story short, each floor is formed by someone's memories. For the most part, they were yours. But along the way, yours got messed up and Namine had to undo the new memories to fix the old ones. So no, you wouldn't remember it."
"We did. I don't get this, either. But they're still kicking. And we're playing around in their cage right now."
Riku was gonna have to slow down with his explanations about this place, because they didn't really make sense, "My memories? The Organization messed with my memories?"
That probably explained the deja vu, but it wasn't enough to confirm that Riku was right. But Sora believed him anyway, because why would Riku lie to him about that?
"Well, whatever it is they're doing, we'll put a stop to it," If the Organization were still alive, then they were probably up to their same old schemes.
