Now, that's interesting. Sara thought as she watched what had to be another 'visitor' to the city walk down the street. She'd never seen someone like that, even throughout her years in 'Frisco, Vegas, or here. Looked like something from a movie back home, but here, she knew there was history, a story. Her scientific mind latched on and wouldn't let go.
Pushing off the wall she was leaning against, she walked over to where the other woman was standing. Sticking her hands into her pockets, she looked nonchalant, as if she was talking to someone from home. Sure, this 'person' looked different to her, but heck, didn't half the people she met in this city?
"Excuse me." Sara said, trying to get the other person's attention, without being totally rude.
Grace had gotten used to doing the approaching, so the moment someone else started walking towards her, her mental red alert went off. Still, she turned to give what could pass as a curious sort of look. Curiously cautious anyway.
"Yes?" she prompted, wondering if this woman had heard her inquiry and would be able to help her. Either that or she was interested in the Avatar body, which would mean she'd need to act like a Na'vi. Not that she wasn't already trying to do that.
"Not to pry, but I heard you were looking for a place to stay. What exactly are you looking for?" Different people were picky, she knew this. She'd stayed at many different places, depending on where she was in the city at the time.
"Now, I have to ask, you're not from around here, are you?" The answer was obvious, but she wanted to get all the facts straight first. Then they could go hunting for residences.
Well, at least the woman wasn't being completely insane about talking to such a strange creature as a Na'vi. That was useful.
"It's not prying if I'm the one making my search known," Grace answered easily. "I'm looking for a relatively nice place, small but big enough for two people, with doors that lock well."
The locks were something she definitely required. The rest could be juggled.
"I'm not, but I get the feeling not many are. Looks like a melting pot around here, if anything."
For two? Sounded like she was lucky enough to have a friend show up here too. Locks? Most of the places she had been in had the basics, but she was sure there was a way to rig a door here with another lock, or something similar.
"Any preference on locations? I know of a couple of places people can stay, all doors come with basic locks but they can be added to, I'm sure." At the next comment, she shrugged.
"Not many, and we all stick out like sore thumbs. Everyone who lives here is blond and blue eyed. We're all...different, to put it mildly."
