Jack was a whole lot less enthusiastic about the meeting. Not that he didn't want to see her, he did and he just couldn't say no to her. But facing someone familiar, someone close, was hard. It was easier to pretend everything was okay on the boards and towards strangers who didn't know him. But Rose was a different matter ( ... )

Admittedly, Rose had been zoning out when Jack was on her way over, so when he spoke, her head snaps up and a grin breaks over on her face. "Jack!" she exclaims, launching up from her spot on the bench to throw her arms around his neck in a tight embrace.

"Good to see you again, Captain," she tells him, pulling away, tongue in cheek.

She'd like to say that he hadn't changed much, but she knew better. She could tell from just... small things. So... maybe mentioning how Jack looked wouldn't be the best of ideas. It was probably good she didn't ask if the Doctor wanted to come along. It may have been... awkward.

"Ready to play escort, then?"

"It's good to see you too, Rose," Jack replies sincerely as he wraps his arms around her waist and briefly returns the hug until she pulls away. It really was especially considering the fact he didn't think he would ever see her again after the Doctor brought her home. But here she was again and Jack couldn't quite keep the warm fond little smile from his face despite the pang of guilt in his gut.

He quietly appreciated she wasn't bringing his current state up right now and hoped it would stay that way. It still wasn't something he was ready to talk about. Not yet. Maybe not ever. Only time would tell.

"As ready as can be," he retorts as he offers his arm to her.

She links an arm with his, bouncing against him and keeping close, and then leading the way.

"The city's mostly safe now, what with all the Heartless gone. Sure there's still the Disney villains and the Organization - have you heard about them yet? They're bad news, worse than the Disney folk if you ask me."

Rose remembers Rosette and what happened with her, and it was terrible. She looks down at the ground as they walk.

"But anyway, city's not so bad. No where is ever completely safe, anyway."

They continued on like that, arm-in-arm, but unfortunately for Rose it wasn't long until the ways of Paixao tugged at her heart and plucked away her friend, leaving her standing in the street, mid-conversation, alone.

"Jack?" she murmurs, looking around. Even then, she knows that if he had moved away from her, she would have felt it. He was just... gone.

Why does this happen...She stays there, standing around, for some time, watching. Finally, she takes out her journal with a rustle. She still needs groceries, whether she feels like it ( ... )

The Doctor didn't really waste any time after speaking to Rose. He headed off straight to the train station to find her.

It was interesting how people seemed to either be brought here and never seemed to leave and yet some would just vanish not long after arriving. Was it some kind of instability? That seemed rather possible given just how tricky and dangerous opening pockets to other dimensions was. Or was there something else behind the disappearances?

But what would make them keep himself here instead of Jack?

It was frustrating to the Time Lord to say the least.

It didn't take long to come across Rose. He strode up to her, slightly concerned still as he could tell she'd been a bit distressed from Jack's disappearance. Couldn't really blame her.

"'Allo! Fancy seeing you here!" he commented, giving her a bit of a smile at first, before allowing his concern to take over. "You alright?"
