First darkness, now Heartless. It wasn't anything she couldn't handle, but it did make things more interesting, even if only marginally. It wasn't, however, enough to stop NiGHTS from being more than a little annoyed at the city gates being blocked off. Come on, it had already been a week! Why was this remaining? The Nightmaren rolled her eyes in an annoyed fashion, mulling her options over (which, as of this moment, were to leave it be or to stop it, and she was leaning toward the latter) when she saw a... pirate?

Huh. That was weird. The maren flew closer to watch him, sensing no Ideya in him - which told her he was odd. SHe chuckled to herself, but for the moment did nothing.

The thick cloud of darkness blanketing the city failed to make it any easier to see. The fact that he was unfamiliar with the city did not help either. He could not help but feel foolish blindly staggering about in the dark. Curse whoever had brought him to this dreadful place and made him look like a bilge rat. If he ever found who was responsible for this they would receive more than their fair share of led in their skull. He cursed to himself, heading toward the nearest light he could find. It would be wise see that around him for he could not help but suddenly get the feeling he was being followed.

NiGHTS couldn't help but laugh at the man. "Having trouble, are you~?" she asked, floating above him and drifting in the darkness. She wasn't in a particularly helpful mood at the moment (perhaps the darkness, all too familiar to the nightmaren, was making things difficult in such matters), and somehow, she thought this strange man didn't seem like one of the good guys. Not that NiGHTS was, of course, although she was often confused for one, but this guy... the way he carried himself and spoke told NiGHTS that he was one who liked having his way. Surely taking him down a proverbial peg couldn't hurt, could it?

And if she was wrong, oh well. It wasn't as though she was going to hurt him, just tease him a little.

The Captain just about jumped out of his shoes at the sound of the voice above him. The last place he expected his opponent to be was above. He immediately drew his pistol and fired blindly at the figure, his sword quickly thrown into its holster before he revealed the secondary weapon. Following this three other shots were fired into the darkness as the pirate stumbled back, scanning the darkness cautiously once he had managed to collect himself. He knew he had smelt something fishy ( ... )

NiGHTS laughed openly at Hook. So the man confused her for some boy, so what? Maybe it would be amusing to tease him about it for awhile. "Poor form?" she giggled as she flew around the sounds of the bullets; when one was naturally airborne and as experience in flight as she was, it was easy to do such a thing. "Poor form?" she sang, whirling unseen above him and trying to think of something silly to say. Oh, she had one. A completely meaningless remark, but it was funny. "How like a codfish to say such a thing." She had heard Owl use that once to describe one of the other Nightmaren, and had doubled over laughing, much to her old friend's chagrin.

"Why should I show myself to a codfish?" she asked, teasing still. "I don't think I want to."
