NiGHTS floated above the city, as usual - but something was amiss. As though the darkness were affecting the maren herself, NiGHTS was practically itching for some fun - possibly of the nightmarish kind. But where to find that here, and how to avoid harming people NiGHTS actually liked? She wasn't good, no, that much was true - but she wasn't evil, either, and terrifying people was no way to make friends.

So she drifted idly, playing her flute, the sweet tones of it forming a song as wild as the wind itself. MAybe she could find someone interesting that way - someone who'd be willing to play.

It was worth a shot.

If the intent was to draw someone in, then the tune certainly managed its job well enough. A strange and wild song that somehow managed to echo with the restless stirrings of that old familiar presence that was his rage. What it promised and what it would lead to he couldn't say. But in lieu of the moon, the wind would serve.

For now, at least. The moon would understand. It was patient, far more so than he at the moment. NiGHTS would have her someone, although the darkness made him little more than a pair of softly-gleaming eyes looming out of the darkness.

The bear would 'play' if that was asked of him, as he drew slowly closer to the source of the music, hunting out the being that was playing it.

NiGHTS remained perched on a building, gracefully drawing out the notes that stirred her own heart so. She lifted up into the air while she played, her eyes closed contentedly - or so it seemed. Slitted iridescent eyes watched through lowered eyelids for a sign of anyone interesting - but what was this? A wild-looking man who appeared to be following her song, his eyes as feral as she nearly felt.

The nightmaren lowered to the ground, almost, finishing the song, and lowering her arms - though her instrument always was invisible, its music was easily heard even by mortals. "Hello," NiGHTS greeted the strange man in black, bowing theatrically as usual. "What are you doing out in the dark?"

Well. That was certainly something you didn't see everyday. Almost a Heartless, this one, although there was none of the attendant feelings of similarity to match. Nor did he really have any urge to make the attempts necessary to control ... it?

Control wasn't what he wanted. Not now.

"Moon watch over you," Saïx answered with a faint nod in return. An old greeting, older than this lifetime, but one uniquely suited to a lightless world. "I'm answering the call."

What call, he would leave unclear. It wasn't horribly important.

NiGHTS grinned at the man. Oh, she realized. An old greeting, and one that related to the moon, which watched over NiGHTS' own realm. How interesting, indeed, that NiGHTS would meet someone who knew that. "And also over you," she replied sweetly, her pupils dilating pleasantly. She tilted her head and crossed her arms, looking him over.

"Oh?" she replied. "How nice of you. There aren't many of those who respond to them these days." She appreciated it - but she could sense no Ideya in this man. Odd. Most living beings had at least one of them - and when they no longer had any, they became something... else. Nevertheless, NiGHTS wasn't about to ask what this man was - she didn't often like those questions herself, anyway.
