Sonic caught sight of the guy he was supposed to meet at about the same time the guy saw him. Looked like he'd have to wait to get a chili dog - this stuff came first.

"Hey, man!" He covered the remaining distance between them at a pretty good clip, zipping to a total stop in front of the guy. "Glad ya showed up. They got chili dogs here!"

And that was Sonic's stomach running away with him again. He was supposed to have priorities. Info. Right. Backtrack a few conversational steps and try again.

"So. Don't think I ever got your name."

"Nice ta meet'cha, Prince," Sonic grinned. Royalty, huh? Well, it took all types.

"Hey, no problem." He made a flipping motion with his hand, downplaying the whole thing. "Gave me a chance t' see what they have here. C'mon, let's get some chow." He headed back over to the table he'd recently occupied, holding up two fingers at a waitress. "Two chili dogs, please!"

That taken care of (oh man he could not wait), he turned back to the Prince. "So. What didja want to know?"

For a few seconds, Sonic was pretty sure he'd picked up a space cadet. Earth to Prince, come in Prince- oh, there, he was back in the conversation. Good ( ... )

And with that, Sonic was completely lost. He'd messed around with time itself once, but that was only to stop Robotnik. Beyond the strange arrivals to the city, the idea of connecting worlds, to him, was completely foreign.

"Nooooo idea," he deadpanned. "The giant monster kinda stopped us from figurin' it out." That was, if the room even was a portal like the Prince seemed to believe. Maybe there was something behind the door the monster had been guarding.

"Big ol' mantis," Sonic elaborated. "Kind of a greyish-white. Pretty tough, too." He'd had that headache for quite a while after that fight (although admittedly part of that was the Doctor's fault).

"Uh." Wow this guy was gung ho. Then again, Sonic couldn't blame him - he couldn't wait to head back to the church either his second time. "Sure." He was a bit more prepared this time, at least.

He perked up a good deal when the waitress came back with two chili dogs, setting one in front of him and the other in front of the Prince. "But first, we eat." And with no further ado, he dug in.
