Marluxia had been reading and had only happened to be looking up by chance, and, as he did, rose an eyebrow at the sight of Larxene. He hadn't thought anything important had happened to send her his way, but maybe she had found something he had missed. The Nobody stood up and set the book off to the side. "And what brings you here today?" he asked her, a faint smirk gracing his features.

Larxene smiled at him more out of habit than anything, but it was intentionally not as sweet as she might have made it, and she made her way over to him easily, watching him. It was obvious she had something to talk about, but it wasn't her usual fare.

"You helped with the experiments, didn't you?" she asked, her voice its usual sweet coo, even if her face didn't quite match the tone.

Having worked with Larxene long enough, the lack of sweetness to the smile was just as telling as a look of displeasure and the smirk quickly fell from Marluxia's face. As she spoke, his expression deepened to a frown. He should have known she would have heard of such happenings, but he still couldn't say he liked her asking questions about it.

"I did. Is there anything you wanted to know about it?"

"I was just wondering what sort of toys you were given," Larxene asked, standing far enough from him to establish a certain mood of seriousness--or that was her intent. "After all, you had that little Riku lookalike, didn't you? Perhaps that little child wouldn't turn up much of interest, but what about him? Or did you not look through their memories?"

That was a joke and she knew it--of course he would have looked through the memories of whoever he had been given, she would have done--had done--the same. It was just a matter of if he would or wouldn't admit to it.

"I looked through them," he assured her. "And I found nothing that needed to be dealt with." Nothing that needed to be dealt with immediately, after all. He didn't have an exact change of plan lain out as of yet, nothing that needed to be brought up. He was perfectly capable of creating a new one in time, but time was all he needed.

"Any particular reason you're asking these questions? If I thought it was important, I would have thought you'd trust me to tell you."
