NiGHTS rose from his bow with a grin. Visitors to the Night Dimension were often amazed at NiGHTS - at least the ones he bothered to show himself to. And in the Night Dimension, everyone could fly - even the Nightopians, the most innocent of the dream realm's denizens.
"Yep!" NiGHTS giggled. "Ever since I was born." Flight had always been easy for him; he and Reala were considered the best flyers in his home realm. "And my name is NiGHTS."
Leslie, indeed, found it impressive that he'd been flying so long. It took so long for humans to even start crawling, let along walking. Flying was...a no-go.
NiGHTS seemed to fit the boy pretty well, in costume and ability especially. A free-flowing name for a free-flowing personality. It was nice when they fit together like that.
"Do you fly around here a lot?" she asked, wondering what Paixao looked like from the air. With the ceilings, you probably couldn't fly too high, but if NiGHTS was used to flying even a simple glide around the city would work.
NiGHTS nodded. "All the time!" he replied. "I don't even stay anywhere in the city, since I don't need to." Unlike mortals, NiGHTS required neither food nor sleep (though he did, on occasion, tire himself to the point that he did need rest). With Reala and Jackle gone, there was nobody else who seemed to share his ability, but NiGHTS didn't really mind. He was independent at heart - but that didn't mean he didn't enjoy making new friends.
"Hey," NiGHTS wondered, looking at Leslie with a mischievous smile. "Would you like to try flying?"
People here had such interesting backgrounds. A lot of them, for example, didn't seem to have any school life. Traditions were so much different from Leslie's as well. There was always something new to learn, to discover.
Would she like to try flying?? That was like, the understatement of the entire century. To see the city from above, to float through the air without hindrance, no worries over gravity.
Leslie nodded, smile wide and excited. "Would I ever!"
NiGHTS had heard about school from his human friends - and frankly, it sounded terribly boring to him. Sitting still for hours at a time while people taught you things you were perfectly capable of learning yourself - and, from the sounds of it, getting it wrong half the time? NiGHTS was glad there weren't any schools in the Night Dimension.
He grinned at Leslie's answer and offered a gloved hand. "Then just take my hand and we'll fly together."
