Hojo tilted an eyebrow, simply stepping forward after her and pulling a pen out of his back pocket.

"I'm checking your blood type. Calm down."

"Blood type?" Maya pulled back her wrist in a protective manner. "What'dya need that for?! We aren't in any hospital or anything, and even then I'm not hurt!"

Hojo's left eyelid twitched a little. This was quickly becoming very annoying. Perhaps she would cooperate more readily with a bit of information.

"I need your blood type so I'll know if you will be useful to me or if I'll have to dispose of you. Now give me your hand."

Maya scowled, nearly furious. "S-So Mr. Edgeworth was right! You did just kidnap me!" She was inching away little by little, trying her best to potray a fearless posture; yet inside, she was slowly becomming more afraid. "I-- I don't want anything to do with this!"

"Mr. Edgeworth?" Hojo frowned a little, slightly confused for a moment or two. There hadn't been anyone here for het to talk to... and then he remembered the journals. Well, he would have to get rid of it. Later. Hojo waved a hand dismissively.

"I'm afraid you don't have much of a choice."

Maya frantically looked back and forth across the room, searching for some means of escape.

A door-- There was a door. If she ran he'd more than likely chase, but it was a risk she'd have to make.
