The Khajiit blinked in momentary confusion, wondering if she had really been that unclear. She supposed maybe her accent or way of speaking had thrown him off. Or maybe his mind was still on the battle he had just fought. Either way, it was easily corrected.

"Ahnassi is Ahnassi," she said, pointing at herself with one hand to clarify things. "There is no one else. It is just her way of speaking."

"Oh." Luffy, with a look of deeper comprehension in his eyes, gave out a little blurb of understanding. Then he paused, almost instantly, and regained a look of confusion, as if the idea he had formed was suddenly snuffed right back out again.

"....ohhhhhhh," he said again, the idea re-lit once again. "You're Agassi. Right!"

The language had obviously thrown him for a loop; speaking in third-person wasn't unheard of to the seafaring young man, but remained foreign, and even seemed a little stuffy. Luffy just shrugged, however, and returned his usual warm smile to his face. "Well, let's get going. I'll get you someplace safe, and then I gotta go. I'm trying to head tow-"

Luffy's voice stopped quickly. He moved instantly, not a single moment of pause between the last word uttered and the instant where he had seemingly thrust his fist towards Ahnassi.

Behind the Khajiit, the body of another Sin-Spawn was lodged - no, impaled - squarely into the surface of the building behind them, the stone crumbling around the newly-formed crater. ( ... )

"Ahnassi, yes," she replied, hoping that the man would eventually get her name right. It wasn't really a good time to dwell on it, though, especially since she hadn't even managed to get his name yet ( ... )

Luffy stood his ground rather proudly, like a single brave soul staring down an oncoming storm, while the little beasts began to approach. Many of them came from down the narrow alley, while more appeared as they climbed along the walls and over the shallow rooftops, and the fearsome young pirate's eyes darted across each and every one as they came. He stood still, his arms hanging loosely down at his sides, his posture relaxed and lanky ( ... )

Ahnassi was definitely impressed at Luffy's agility and the skill with which he managed to fend off most of the creatures. Still, there were far too many of them for him to give her complete protection. To her dismay, one of them almost made it around him, despite his best efforts. He had managed to pin it down, but Ahnassi could clearly see that holding it back was going to seriously hinder the rest of his defense. If he didn't let it go, it would either turn on him and possibly injure him trying to tear itself free, or else the others would swarm over them both and then it would all be over ( ... )
