Alice had taken to wandering in the past few days. The meeting had been informative, and Alice DID have every intention of snooping around and finding out where the next Organization gathering might happen, for now Alice was doing what she liked best: exploring. In this world, in ANY world, it felt good to not constantly have to be looking over her shoulder, afraid that the next move could be her last. Still, this place wasn't very friendly anyway. The inhabitants here all looked the same, there was a seedy plot involving blokes in disguise, and new enemies to kill, though the latter two didn't bother her as much
( ... )
Rika hadn't expected to be addressed, and jumped just a bit before turning to look at who had spoken to her. Judging by hr appearance, she seemed more likely to answer questions--she was getting nowhere with all the blonds. The outfit the girl was wearing was one she would consider odd--she took note of the symbols with a bit of curiosity--but this wasn't Hinamizawa.
"Hello," Rika said, letting the childish tone come to the forefront; people were more likely to help a little lost girl, after all. "I just got here. Is there really no way back?"
She had spoken with Ivan on the journal, and he had said there wasn't. But Rika couldn't help but hope that maybe he just hadn't known the way.
Alice stared back at the girl. Her appearance seemed to be that of one that was, although inquisitive, a bit timid. Alice couldn't blame her. It was a strange new world, and the last thing she had probably ever expected to happen to her. In truth, Alice sometimes wondered if this place was a dream herself. Between the fights, the girl she had liked that was gone and the meeting, Alice's ming felt fairly presses these days.
Of course, the reminder this was not a dream lay in her right high heeled boot: the vorpal blade, her surest reason of where she was.
"I am Alice," The older girl replied. "I figured you just arrived here: you were at the gates, it is how most of us arrive here. As far as I know, no there is no way to return to your world. You can take it from me when I tell you that this fact is the least of your problems."
Another one who said there was no way back. But she had to get back. She couldn't abandon her world just when things had finally been working out. But for now... If anything happened to her here, she would not be able to go home. So it would be best to focus on the issue at hand: what was this world like?
"I'm Rika," she said, and tilted her head to one side slightly. "Problems? What kind of problems?"
If this world was anything like her old one, she wouldn't be surprised to hear of mysterious murders and illnesses. But maybe this world didn't have such problems? Still, if there was some sort of organization... Rika had had problems with mysterious organizations before.
