Setting: Outside the Vanaheim gate
Time: Tuesday night
Warnings: Kidnapping.

( Hojo stumbled through the gate, turning around once he had his footing again only to find that it was gone. )

"What... on earth... am I doing here?!" Maya screeched to no one in particular; it was freezing, and she found herself only walking around in circles. With no place to stay, she was walking around in the rain, sniveling and very miffed. "I hate this place. Where am I?"

Maya clutched tighter around her lavender coat around herself; it did nothing to help keep her warm, for it and everything else on her was wet and just as cold as the weather. Finally looking up from her feet, she spotted someone else. Someone... different. He seemed so, anyway-- Nothing like the locals that she had occasionally run into. She felt obligated to ask him just about every question that had popped into her head since she got to Paixao.

"E-Excuse me, s-sir?" Maya asked through a snivel, approaching the man.

Well, it seemed the victims were making this easy. Hojo looked at Maya blankly for a moment before deciding that if the specimens had to be conscious during their capture he might as well get them to stay around.

"Yes?" he asked, unable to keep his voice from quivering slightly with the cold. The poor man was shivering so hard his outline blurred.

"Ah, good!" Maya walked closer to him with a glimpse of hope for herself. "I have no idea where I'm at, to be honest. I've been wandering around here for days, can you believe that? The people here are kind, but they really don't do a darn thing about problems!" She crossed her arms in a huff. "So, well... Tell me, what is this place, exactly? Do you have any idea how I got here?"

Oh lord. Hojo shook his head, wet strands of hair sticking to his face. "This is Paixao," he said with a shrug. "And your guess is as good as mine as to how you got here. This place is... bizarre." It was true, and he was not in the mood to do anything other than say the first thing that came to his mind. It was too cold to think.

"Well, yeah, but that doesn't explain what this place is." Maya shrugged. "If you don't know either, then I won't bother you much about it. But..." She looked up at Hojo with an inquiring look. "Say, what're you doing out here in this freezing rain, anyway? And for that matter, what's your name? Not so much of a bad idea when it comes to learning new faces."

Hojo frowned, thinking on that for a moment. Why was he putting up with this? Well, because Ansem was more powerful than he was, and because he had nowhere else to go. But really, enough was enough. He could drop this one off at the lab and just leave; this was too much.

Hojo shook his head then, sighing. "I don't know. Come here, hold out your hand," he said, gesturing for Maya to walk over.

"Huh? Alright..." Without any clue of what would happen, Maya obeyed. She was oblivious, and truly thought nothing would happen.

Well, that was easy. Hojo pulled the thread out of his pocket and tied it easily around the woman's wrist. "There we go..." He then grinned at her and pulled the twist of paper out of his pocket, throwing it on the ground.

The two of them disappeared in a puff of smoke.
