Alice's choice of conversation starters gave the schoolgirl pause. Yuck! Something like that would be enough to kill anyone's taste in meat! At least Chizuru had ordered grilled fish, otherwise she might've gone hungry that evening, and that was no way to have a date. Briefly, she wondered what 'Hime was having for dinner tonight-- whatever it was probably included leeks and peanut butter ( ... )

"I'm just glad you're all right," Alice replied, taking a bit of her salad. The food was quite good even if a bit loud. She would have had a bit of fish herself had she not spent so much time cutting down those snarks that looked too much like fish. In any case, she was still enjoying the meal, and that went double for Chizuru's company.

"Yes, I've been hearing a bit more about them myself. Organization thirteen seems to be the name of their little gathering. In any case, I intend to prevent them from causing any more mischief. There seems to be kidnappings across Paixao as well."

Alice was starting to take a drink from her water cup when she felt Chizuru's foot gently brush against her own. A warm feeling sprouted over Alice much like a shiver, but one could only spy its effects in her eyes for a brief moment. Without missing a beat, Alice unhooked her right foot from around her left and traveled slowly over to Chizuru's right leg, moving slowly up the calf.

Chizuru nearly giggled when Alice responded to her challenge, then moved the foot she'd started this little game with back to block Alice's foot. A new challenger appears! she thought giddily, and promptly stifled a most un-innocent grin with a bite of fish (thankfully, Alice hadn't mentioned a distaste for fish or a reason therefore yet). Half of Paixao might have been kidnapped for all that Chizuru really cared right now-- she was having the time of her life!

"Why you little minx," Alice murmured, a smile surfacing Alice usually only used when she was moving in for the kill on an enemy. Missing for that smile, though, was the usual maliciousness that was in Alice's eyes as she darted in for the kill. Instead, it was a look of response to a challenge. Alice looked down innocently at her salad fork and appeared to be in deep thought about its origin, inspecting it a moment before placing a piece of salad on the fork...and bending the fork back just enough so the piece of lettuce, dressing and all, flew at Chizuru and got her square down her shirt.

"Oh dear me, I'm so clumsy," Alice said with not a hint of sorrow in her voice. "Did you need any help with that?"

Alice had to admit it...she was enjoying herself immensely.

Chizuru definitely squeaked at the impact, flinching back, then laughing and reaching for a napkin with her right hand to wipe off her shirt and hide that her left hand was loading up a fork with rice for a returning volley. "No," she answered, giggling as if she'd been had in a practical joke and was just being a good sport about it.

Then she fired back. Bombs away!

Food fight! She hadn't been in one of those since middle school! But the memory came back to her of adolescent war games, of surprises, strategies, ambushes, and the discreet diplomacy of everyone trying to get 'Hime with her bizarre foodstuffs and Tatsuki with her militant fighting abilities onto their teams when the mess broke out in the courtyard during lunch.

Alice giggled at the fun of all this. This was definitely something knew to her, this bit of simply unwinding with a friend. She had become so accustomed to attacking and killing frightful things that it never occurred to her for a minute that she could actually unwind for a moment.

Despite herself, she REALLY liked Chizuru. She was an interesting individual and she definitely knew how to keep her interested. While she normally had a mission on her mind and a plan of how to carry them out, Chizuru was, in her personal opinion, a rogue encounter.

She liked it.

"I'll return your volley!" Alice threatened and started with the salad again, and starting also with a bit of the pie.

Food flew, girls laughed, the staff scowled, the other patrons laughed, and ultimately Chizuru lost the food fight. It didn't bother her one bit-- she'd been on the losing side of plenty of such wars in school, and they weren't at all as important as the battles Alice had talked about in her journal or in person, nor as important as the one when they'd tried to escape the city.

Thinking of that fight reminded her of Sora, lost and amnesiac somewhere, and Chizuru frowned slightly. "It looks like we're done here," she said finally, flagging a distressed waiter for the bill. "This was great, but... the sooner we get some sleep, the sooner we can get back to work trying to help Sora get his memories back, right? Or maybe talk to people about finding another way out of Paixao?"

She slipped a hand across the table to Alice's and smiled at the brunette girl. "Maybe once we're done taking care of emergencies here, we can have another date... how about the upcoming festival?"

Alice stretched, happy to be the victor, but even more pleased to have reunited with Chizuru. Strangely enough, there was a playful part of herself she had not seen in awhile, and this red headed minx seemed to ring it out. It was most intriguing, and Alice made sure to tip the patron generously for his trouble ( ... )

Chizuru giggled as she and Alice left the nightclub to walk together towards the hotel, hand in hand. If not for the fact that her family must be worried sick about her by now-- but she'd run away, all sorts of terrible things could have happened to her, murderers and rapists and-- she might have agreed with Alice that Paixao was an okay place but for the crazies... and she didn't mind the crazies too much ( ... )

Alice did not mind this too much. Chizuru had plenty of pluck, and she even had a new mission in this place: to find out where those chaps in the black coats had taken Sora. If Chizuru fell asleep before her (and she sincerely hoped that wasn't the case) Alice could forgo sleep and scour the forums. Anything to find out where they were keeping him ( ... )
