Briar could feel the presence of his foster sister as soon as she reached the gate. However, not in his many years of experience with the girl did he ever expect her to pratically tackle him in order to offer up a hug.

"Tris!!! How did you...? When did you...?" The plant mage returned the hug with as much vigor. After all, he hadn't seen her in ages, either. Once GIR began yelling, Briar released Tris and extricated himself from her grasp as he watched the green dog. It was a very strange creature to be sure, laughing and rolling on its journal. He wasn't sure how something could be upset one second and then laughing the next. Then again, this wasn't home, so he wasn't really sure that such things weren't the norm elsewhere.

"What brings you here, Tris?" Briar asked of his sister before crouching down to try and stop GIR from rolling around. With all of the strange creatures around, it would probably be wise of them to move on, find somewhere else to go...

I don't know, Tris replied silently. I don't know how or why I'm here. ...What are those white thi- That white thing, with its creepy movement, was too close to Tris for her to be anywhere near comfortable. And then- pain, in her back, and it wasn't going away. Jerking away from her brother, Tris sparked whatever was on her back. It was enough to get the white thing OFF of her, gods be thanked.

...Except that there were a lot of them. "Briar, pick up your screaming little green friend and run." She could handle a pirate fleet, let alone these things, which were trying to attack. She wouldn't let them. Hand on her hair, yank a braid loose, free it of its tie and let the wind form a swirling barrier, protecting the three from whatever they were. I won't take no for an answer, either, so don't argue. I can take care of these and find you. GO.

After the murderer in Thairos, Tris seemed to be able to handle this crisis better than she handled the pirates. She had almost killed that murderer. If they attacked her brother, she really would ( ... )

GIR halted all spinning and shut himself up the moment the boy crouched down. "You wanna roll, toooooooo~?" he asked, wiggling his little legs around before he pushed himself up to his feet. One of those white things, he noticed, had jumped on the girl's back, and GIR cheered it on enthusiastically. "I WANTS A PIGGY BACK RIDE, TOOOOOO!"

More came, and GIR's enthusiastic, loud cheering quieted when he finally realized the creatures didn't seem to want to play nice. Of course, his pathetic little mind couldn't wrap around any possibility why the strange creatures wouldn't want to play nice, but ... it wasn't exactly a topic his thoughts found themselves able to linger on for more than a few seconds.

Randomly, he screamed, flailing once more, and ran around in a squeaky circle, grabbed his journal, and turned to face the boy. "I'M GONNA GO FIND ME SOME TACOS!" GIR exclaimed excitedly, smiling widely as he then turned back around and ran, squeakily, in some random direction. Due to his size, it was relatively easy to meander around the ( ... )

Having already taken care of one foreigner, Larxene was on the hunt again, looking for her next victim. And she had found some in the form of a man, a woman, and a really annoying green dog. Standing on a nearby rooftop, she watched as the trio exchanged greetings, ending with dog running off to find his stupid tacos. He wouldn't be a challenge to her anyways, and at least it would be quieter now.

The remaining two wouldn't get off so easily however... Teleporting from the roof, she appeared several meters in front of them, arms crossed, hood down, and a smile on her face.

"Well now, are we having a reunion here?" They both looked pretty young, but she didn’t care. Besides, the young were always so full of life and vigor!

"That's really touching, I’m already getting nauseous."

Briar had been about to go after the green dog when a woman appeared before them. Her sudden appearance startled the plant mage enough that he took a step back. Unconciously, he loosened the cotton bindings of one of his wrist holsters, allowing one of his knives to drop into his hand. He was less than comfortable with the appearance of this woman, mostly because of the means and partly because of his childhood. The mage was taking note of possible ways to escape from the situation, should the need arise.

"If you don't like it, you don't have to stick around," Briar pointed out. "There's plenty of city for you to place between yourself and us."

He was being polite, to concede proper, more formal language to her. He could have sworn up a storm, but he could always save it for later.
