Rei's expression as she surveys the hospital they are in makes Death chuckle in amusement, Is this the hospital? Death nods in affirmation, "Yup, this is the hospital!" Letting go of Rei's hand, she walks a few steps toward the reception desk at the end of the hall. "I like this smell much better than the bitter smell that hospitals usually have," she explains.

Then turning around to face Rei again, she smiles at the girl, "I don't think you should walk around with that kind of injury." Death gestures to the sofas scattered around the hall, "sit there first while I get you a doctor, 'kay?" With a brief toothy smile, she turns around and walks cheerfully toward the reception desk. She hopes that the girl will follow her instruction as she really thinks that walking around will make Rei feel much worse.

The girl would have asked how they got there so quickly if her whole body were not aching. She was grateful. Exhaustion was hitting Rei like a ton of bricks, and she made a mental note that she hadn't slept in days. Tokyo-3 and NERV seemed so far away. In reality, she supposed, they really were.

Rei knew the smell of hospitals very well. She liked the smell, to some extent. It was comforting. She didn't like the finer smells, the ones she could pick up sometimes when turning in the hall... blood. It disgusted her. She could stand it while in the entry plug, but in other places it made her feel as if she were drinking it.

Rei listened to Death. There was no other option, and the woman hadn't done anything to make Rei suspicious of her. The distance to the nearest sofa was short. A few strides would have gotten her there. But Rei took one step and fell onto the sofa, quietly and without a fuss. As Death went towards the desk, Rei struggled to pull herself into a relatively comfortable position.

Walking with a bounce in her steps, Death spares a glance at Rei and smiles to herself as she watches the albino stumble onto a nearby sofa. Rei's innocence is definitely appealing to Death, but her obedience is a really good bonus too. Hopping in front of the receptionist like a fifteen-year-old teenager that she looks like, Death chirps out a "Hi~" at the blond-haired man behind the counter. "I need someone to help out my severly injured friend over there," Death points to Rei for the man to see.

Death does not have anything to pay the medical bills with, but she hopes that things will go well and she would not have to pay. If things turn bad, then well, she can probably offer to put it as debt and get a job. A normal human's job requires very little compared to her current job, so it should be easy to 'fit' one into her schedule. She is starting to think way ahead though, and brushing the matter off of her mind, Death gives the man another smile, "it would be good if you can get her someone as soon as possible."

Quickly looking up at the girl who addressed him, he was suddenly struck with a strange pang of homesickness even though he is nowhere far from his home. "Hi every-- Ms," he corrects himself. "Sorry there, it's a habit, you see?" Then digesting what the girl dressed as a typical Goth said, "Severely injured, eh? Well, what are we waiting for? Let me take a look at her ( ... )

The thought of medical bills passed through Rei's mind as she pressed a hand over her bandaged eye. NERV would have usually taken care of everything, or Commander Ikari himself if need be. Rei figured that if need be, she would find a way to pay the bills. Her skills outside of piloting were nothing spectacular, but she knew how to clean and how to stick to a task. She hoped it wouldn't come to that, though. She needed to find a way to contact Commander Ikari and get back to Tokyo-3.

Rei looked up as the doctor approached her. He didn't seem like any of the doctors that had worked with her recently. All she could remember were stern faces and set jaws, men and women doing their work without comment. Rei wasn't sure what to think about the man, and said nothing, staring at him with her one good eye. It was obvious what her injuries were.
