This BBC documentary is available on video.google.com and does a good job of explaining the benefits to developing nations Free and Open Source Software (FOSS). It's only 38 mins long and I recommend it for people who are interested in knowing why we're in South America. It passes the "mom test". We are not affiliated with any current projects

So I've no idea why you're in SA, (and at the moment, my compuer can't play videos) but it sounds all activist-y and cool.
