Co-Mod Introduction

Okay, let's start with an introduction. I am cold_queen_5, a long time participator of this awesome icon!contest community of which we are all a part of. When phoenix39 indicated that she'd like to take a rest from running the contest, I decided to step up and try my hand at it. Let me be clear, this will be my first time being a mod but both phoenix39 and I are confident that I can handle it. Since the actual mod duties entail mainly self-standing posts, it shouldn't be terribly hard.
There will be a couple of minor changes, however. Since I've participated so long in the contest I've been able to both experience and notice several things that I want to try and make a bit better.
I have decided that instead of having a weekly challenge, we're going to be switching to a bi-weekly one. Basically, we'll have a challenge every two weeks. I think this will give you all time to participate if you'd like, despite whatever other obligations you might have. I know there are times when I've wanted to participate but just couldn't find the time, and then the challenge was over and I couldn't. This way, if you'd like, you have the new extra week in which you can hopefully participate.
Also, in addition to the new longer challenges, I will not be issuing any challenge extensions. If for some reason no one participates in a challenge then I will simply close the challenge and post a new one. You can't really force inspiritation where there is none, so I'd rather just start anew. I'm afraid to say that this does mean there will also be no personal extensions either. If you do not have your icons here when the challenge closes (and voting goes up) then I'm afraid they will not be included. Voting will last exactly one week, and results and banners will be posted, as well as reminders for the current challenge.
If that was confusing in any way (and believe me I know it was), trust me when I say it will make perfect sense once its in effect.
Those are the only changes I can think of to tell everyone, but I'd also like to take the time to ask y'all some questions if you don't mind.
Do you, the participators, prefer to search for your own images or have them provided? (I personally find challenges more interesting if I have to use the images provided so I'm more inclined to limit the challenges to just that. I'm willing to go either way, though, depending on your opinions.)
Is there anything you'd like to see done different here? Or perhaps differently with the challenges?
