It’s midnight. Yoochun talks in piano keys and music stanzas; his lips move but the real truth is in the melody. Two rooms over, Changmin falls asleep on late-night logic, his schoolbooks spread out on the table and the kitchen light bulb flickering on-off, off-on. The hum of the refrigerator compliments the soft tune down the hall.
The music stops. Footsteps in the hallway wake Changmin up - he stirs, rubs his face further into the notebook. Yoochun pauses in the doorway.
On Changmin’s wrists in a black fountain pen, Yoochun’s heart wrote lullabies. A stanza of hope and a coda of love, and then he titled it I’ll Never Leave. When Changmin stands up, Yoochun’s hands go to his wrists, rub against the invisible song.
Changmin kisses him the harmony.
