Comments: for simply_emotion <3 Partially inspired by Dido's Here With Me. I started out with a 700ish word fic, and then reread it and realized, uh, this has no point. So thus, ended up with this. xD
“Selfish.”
The statement hangs between them. Kei taps ashes from the cigarette, takes another drag. He breathes out. “It’s only human.”
It tears sardonic laughter from Sho’s throat “Did you think I’d be happy like this? Did you think I’d be able to face her - like this?”
A snarl, and they’re colliding, Kei’s hands ghosting over his throat - slight hesitation before he’s pinned to the wall, his own hands clenched in fists. “Did you,” Kei starts. “ever think about Yi-Che. Your own damn desires.”
Sho punches a fist into his shoulder. His words are loud. “That was different!”
“The same.” A breath. “I,” and Kei’s hands are sliding down the front of his shirt, clutching at the fabric. It’s an almost desperate gesture, as vulnerable as the words that follow, “I didn’t want to be alone.”
Sho looks past him, out into the night sky. It’s a full moon.
“Take care of her.” Barely a whisper, the words forcing themselves out. “Take care of her, dammit.”
A nod, and then Sho’s leaning his head onto Kei’s chest, Kei’s arms wrapping themselves around in him - parroting a scene so familiar in Sho's memories that he chokes on a half-sob. “I’m sorry,” he says.
Kei just brushes a thin hand through his hair.
It's enough.
