Synopsis: It’s early morning when Yoochun wakes up, bleary eyed and disoriented - his head itches and when he scratches it a sticky note flutters onto his stomach.
Comments: Written as a warm-up - the prompt was sticky notes from yomi_chan305
one.
When they were young and stupid - those few months before debut when everything was a game and a dream and a whole lot of hopeful fear, Jaejoong used to post sticky notes on their schedules, “fighting!” and “I’m learning to cook,” and things that ripped Yoochun’s initial impression of him to shreds.
two.
In Japan they’re still young but maybe they’re a little less stupid, even when Changmin’s standing on the balcony and thinking of flying and Yoochun’s taken up cigarettes. “Need a lighter?” he says to Jaejoong, and Jaejoong gestures a thanks. He doesn’t talk much, but Yoochun finds a sticky note stuck to his pillow that night. It says “don’t give up.” (he doesn’t know about the ones that say I love you - I love you; they’re in the trash.)
three.
Their comeback in Korea is a celebration - they’re young but not quite so young, and Yoochun tells the press only Junsu is stupid. “We’re all happy about this fourth album,” Yunho is saying, while Yoochun rubs his arm and Junsu sulks. Jaejoong is quiet - it isn’t until three the next morning that Yoochun takes off his shirt and the sticky note falls to the floor. “Thank you,” written messily, and Yoochun doesn’t know what it means.
four.
It’s early morning when Yoochun wakes up, bleary eyed and disoriented - his head itches and when he scratches it a sticky note flutters onto his stomach. “Jaejoong’s” it states, and he turns to Jaejoong; they pushed their beds together long ago and he’s only a foot away. “Don’t need it,” he whispers (Jaejoong’s sleeping), “I’m all ready yours.”
five.
They’re past-news and old, maybe they’ll always be stupid but mostly just when they’re all together, reliving their youth like they never could before. Changmin and Junsu leave - Changmin to his flat and the girlfriend he denies is serious, and Junsu to a night of recording - but they’ve promised to be back and Yunho is still there, helping to clean up.
“What’s this?” he asks, surprised, when he pulls open their cupboard. Yoochun sees the yellowed notes and grins; Jaejoong pushes past Yunho from the kitchen and adds another - “DBSK,” to the mess. “A chronological account of life and love,” he says. Yunho stares at him. “Or something,” Yoochun adds, and tangles an arm around Jaejoong’s waist. (it’s their something.)
