[OK, the house has generally been pretty quiet lately so Nall is jarred by the threatening sounds he's hearing. He flies around the house until he finds, drumroll please, a new roomie!]

[She abruptly stops talking and looks at the...floating kitty thingy. While she still has the NPC drone son held up against a wall by the collar of his shirt, she's not pressing that knife on his throat.]

[And she briefly glares back at the whimpering kid, but does nothing.]

[She just gives one last glare at poor, poor NPC Drone Son, and drops him. He hits the floor hard and goes scampering off, still whimpering a bit.]

[Nall watches drone-son run away, and withholds a sigh of relief. Fear of injuring the kid in the process of interceding stopped him from trying to take the knife away.]

The place you're in now is called Mayfield. I don't know where you came from, but you've been kidnapped like me and just about everyone else here now. That kid? Drone. Drones are all stupidly pleasant and insist everything here is great. You cause too much trouble? You become one. Heck, sometimes you turn into one for no reason. So in the future, how about being a little more gentle with 'em, alright? How would you feel being threatened while you were too dumb to defend yourself?

N is... well, I don't know him all too well, he only showed up recently, but he seems alright, I guess. You remember the room you woke up in? Just root around in the drawers of the dresser in there or in the closet, you should be able to find something.

I'm not a youkai given that I've never heard the word before today. All you really need to know about me is that A) I am NOT, repeat, NOT a cat. I will not eat kibble or do other kitty things like play with string or cat toys. And B) Don't attack any more kids. Keep the knife, you might need it, but a lot of people here in Mayfield won't harm you, they just want to get along and find their way home. Not ALL of them, but... Fight, but in your own defense. Don't threaten non-combatants and I'll help you out as much as I can so we can all escape this nightmare.

Huge bunch of youkai back home look like kids. And they're dangerous. [She considers this.]

Look, I'm going to be completely frank with you, back home, I run an orphanage, so this business about injuring and barbequing kids doesn't sit RIGHT with me...

...for what it's worth, I am sorry. If being attacked by things that look like kids was a concern where you come from, then it sounds like your home was a really dark, dangerous place to live.

But for crying out loud, try to observe and use your best judgement. These drones should be pitied... they've completely lost their free will... and the kids here used to be regular people like you and me [well, kinda]. Hard for me to imagine something worse than that...
