How many different ways can the weather appear out of the sky today? And why do we have so few useful words for it (ah yes, I remember, because we view weather as an inconvenience (usually) and distance ourselves from it. It was very weathery on the drive from North Wales to Oxford too :-) I had: warm sunshine, clear skies, strong winds in clear skies, big sea waves near the shore (wish my camera battery'd had the charge to catch those, they were beautiful; I just stood and watched them while leaning into the wind with my coat spread to catch it); clouds that looked like they might become tornadoes, distant rain, suddenly raining on me, suddenly sunny and clear again, more torrential horizontal rain, clear again, hailstones, clear again, snow, thick thick rain where you can't see ahead, and then a nice evening. Today was fresh and clear and warm, nice enough to walk without a coat. Mmm.
