The Spaces Between Black and White

And when all else fails, the world crumbling at our feet and the sky splitting at its seams, we'll hold on to each other and say, 'This is it. This is it.'

The look in your eyes will feel a bit like anticipation and guilt, pain and relief. I wonder how my eyes will reflect.

I know we will hold no regrets, no sorrow, but our hearts will hold the wounds of lost time and a future that was never there. Will never be. Lost, all lost, like pieces of shattered glass along the beach.

But this fate, destiny, has already been written, and it is here.

Our hands will hold on to all that is left, fingers clutching onto the remnants of final moments, the countdown of a ticking bomb, and we'll draw our last breaths.

We'll die together, and it'll be a happy ending.
