Won-Ton's Song
About 2 weeks ago our 15-year-old cat Won-Ton came down with a urinary tract infection and did not respond well to antibiotics or any other medicines we tried to give her. Several days later she began refusing food and took to hiding. On Monday she had 2 grand mal seizures in the morning, and we were able to find a mobile vet who could come by and do an in-home euthanasia in the early afternoon. She passed away peacefully at home, the most we could hope for.
In recent years she had uncontrollable hyperthyroidism, epilepsy, kidney disease and arthritis. She was -- is -- a beautiful soul and a gentle spirit, and always will be. With her passing, a warm and loving tide has ebbed out of our lives. But even though we are left behind on the shore, our lives have been made immeasurably better for having had the chance to sail those seas with her, even for the few short years she was with us.
Rest in peace, Won-Ton; you will always have a place in our hearts.
Here is a special song for Won-Ton.
