It is scary to have your tastes vectored so accurately by this culture-making machine, but in this case I find I don't really mind. I guess it's because they did it so well and because the show seems somehow inclusive and genuine in its aim to entertain. Unlike, say, SupNat, where the fangirl baiting struck me as kind of condescending.
But really, the point is Tyler Hoechlin being all brooding and angsty. With his shirt off. A lot. *g*
Lady, I must confess that it took me only about ten minutes to drink the kool-aid. And at just the right time; I really needed something fun and mindless and absorbing to unwind with. Mission accomplished.
But damn, if I'd known I'd actually like it (which I was extremely doubtful of beforehand), I would've taken advantage of the fact that I kinda accidentally wound up at the cast signing session at SDCC. I lurked for a little bit because they were all so ridiculously adorable, but then wandered off without getting any pics or sigs. Oops.
And here's something you don't know: I'm a lurker on your Tumblr, which I enjoy very much. (The recent post on Ray Kowalski/Callum Rennie? D'awww...) I've yet to join the mass migration, I guess because it seems more about images to me, where I'm really more of a word person. Or just a hopeless luddite. *g
>how lovely the no-homophobia, no-misogyny, no-racism aspect of the show was Preach, sister. That was an aspect that endeared the show to me pretty quickly, actually, because of how (sadly, still to this day) unusual it is.
And I'll throw out an amen on JR Bourne and Ian Bohen. I quite like Seth Gilliam as well (although the where-have-I-seen-him thing was itching at me until I iMDb'ed him to figure out he was in the Wire). And young Tyler...well, 'nuff said.
Haha! Great minds, etc.... Whiskey ginger has proved to be the perfect accompaniment thus far. In fact, I'm off to mix one now, because it's time to start season 2!
That sounds like a sma~shing idea. Maybe I'll watch one before bed tonight. Afterall, I *do* have the ingredients for a 7&7 in my freezer....feel free to ping me on gchat (nightreveals).
(Oh! btw, I don't know if you'll be interested in shipping at all or not, but if you are and end up a Stiles/Derek shipper, here are some nice recs to get you started: http://aliassmith.livejournal.com/tag/teen%20wolf .)
Gah, why didn't I get a notification of this post? /shakes fist at LJ/
I am cautiously poking a toe into the fic waters of this fandom--luckily it seems not inclined to drag me under and eat my brain. I've been shying away from the LJ groups and picking through AO3 mostly, so this rec list will very much come in handy, thank you! And I see you have a few that I should peruse forthwith...
I *know* ♥! Things've been kinda nutty, so I haven't had a chance to watch yet, but I'm gonna get my grubby little paws on the new ep. this weekend and catch up. It's been chilly here, so some tropical scenery would be juuuust the right thing to warm up to.

MTV has a pretty good grasp on fangirls, it's a little scary.

Danny is seeing someone (glance at Steve)! He should call Steve's mom mom! I missed their faces.
