New painting

A new painting done yesterday - I'm doing another painting of this same scene, but in daylight, and with my usual torturous precision. It's driving me nuts, so I set aside two hours and did this, just to get something FINISHED. Only problem is that it was a badly-primed canvas so the colour doesn't sit on the top like it's supposed to, and build

i really like it! a different style from what you usually do, but it works really well. f's mum is doing us oil painting portraits of the kids at the moment, so can't wait to see them! i feel like a painting day - wish you were closer! K:)

Passion for life

Hey Chrissy I got the address yesterday, so when i woke this morning i logged in to have gander. I was still reading when the battery died 2hrs later, i immediately got up plugged in and finished your history since moving into your place in Auckland. I had forgotten how infectious your passion for life is. Your stories about life in Oxford have once again shown how you grab life with both hands and make the most of every opportunity that crosses your path. Bryce you're such a legend! What a lovely comment! And I'm seriously impressed that you read so much of my journal at two sittings. I'm so glad you enjoyed it and didn't run screaming into the night wondering what Steve had married. We're using so much of the advice you gave us about England - so often something will confuse us, then we'll go "Oh wait, Bryce said it would be this way" or "the English are crazy! But wait, Bryce did warn us..." And we keep talking about all the stuff you did while you were here and it encourages us to get out and about. Please do keep reading, we haven't done any family emails like we should have because I mostly put everything here that I'd say in emails anyway.
