I can't believe I didn't list this step yesterday. When you're an invalid, it's incredibly important to keep your spirits up. The Seventh Step (and I can't stress this strongly enough) is to buy things off the internet. Hiya - Mike Savage here. Emailed this to Steve, but just in case - Evergreen Books in Devonport has an early edition of a Narnia book (5th printing, so maybe not super early) that I saw when Anna and I were there on the weekend. $40 I think. Just thought you might be interested!

Hi Mike, how are ya? Didn't even know I'd told you about my blog, but very exciting to have readers! You won't believe this, but two seconds before I read your email I'd contracted to buy a first edition second impression of Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe for... the amount is physically giving me a headache. Let's just say that I've negotiated a five-month payment schedule! The dust jacket is ripped in half but it's the closest I'll ever be able to get to a good-looking first ed. The next most expensive one on ABEbooks is US$850! The dollar's high right now, but not that high. Anyway, thanks heaps for letting me know, and I might well mosey on down and have a look at it. A little more debt never hurt anyone...
