For us, it is very tragic, as we're just such a tiny country. Of course planes crash (near to) everyday, all around the world. But if it happens to a country like France, Germany, the UK or the US, 61 people sounds like peanuts, but when you're that tiny....Like when we lost people in our army at Afghanistan and Srebrenica, we do what we can, but we're just smurfs, we're puppies. Losing 61 people is hard, but that child, the one survivor...My heart goes out to that little Dutch boy.
Indeed it is, so very tragic. I remember you speaking of how small your country is and my first thought upon reading this news was what a great loss that is - 61 people. That one little boy remains, though, and I hope he survives. He's a symbol of strength and light.
Can you imagine how that must feel? His mama and papa are death and his sibling are death too. And of the whole plane, only he comes out of it alive... Imagine what that would do to a ten year old. I've been sick all day. Poor thing.
