I guess I don't believe in open-ended communication

 A certain friend of mine --let's call her "Ellen"-- has just reminded me that I have an LJ account, but have posted nothing on it.  She also reminds me that I write eloquent, fulsome postcards to her and to friends, and she seems to think that LJ and postcards are equivalent

What about those e-notes you write to several of us at once from the various cafes (and bus stations) you sojourn in? You have been utterly spoiled by the existence of "cc." in e-mails, that's what it is. I, myself, first joined LJ because I realized I was cc'ing 5 friends on one letter containing an amusing anecdote, and that with a few tweaks it would be fit for popular consumption.

And why you didn't choose "PaddyoFurniture" for your LJ name is beyond me.
