It's called living in the real world, she's still young and naive...time will teach her that sadly sometimes being pessimistic is just being realistic.

I think life works in that progression. From optimism (which you need to fuel you as a kid) to realism. Maybe a bit of pessimism. Life is a mix of both. Without optimism, we wouldn't get up and get through the day. Like hope. Young people just have an abundance of it, and sometimes, that's a good thing. They learn, eventually. I guess. ;)
