Behind the Scenes Pictures
As far as I can tell there are no scenes in Political Animals that take place in Philadelphia, but they did film exteriors here last spring. (I've been told my neighborhood looks a lot like Georgetown.) Every couple weeks or so I'd step outside my apartment building to find the block parked up with production trailers. On the last day they were here, June 30th, I took some pictures and I did get to watch one scene being filmed in Rittenhouse Square.
These pictures aren't very spoilery (although they are for an episode that hasn't aired yet) and one of them is pretty blurry, but I thought I'd share them for people (like me) who love behind the scenes stuff.
I had the honor of always having the bathrooms parked right outside my building.
The pink sign is the ladies' room and it says "Lucy." The blue sign is the men's room an it says "Desi."
This is the other trailer that was always parked outside my building. I don't know what it's for, but the fact it had no windows intrigued me.
This is the scene I got to watch being filmed. I apologize for the blurriness, but a PA was eying me suspiciously so I felt I need to take the picture as fast as I could.
You can't really see any of the actors, but Carla Gugino and Stephen Hill (who plays Omar) were in it. I'm not sure but I think maybe Sebastian Stan and James Wolk were in the scene as well. I looked up some stuff on IMDb and I think this is the episode Lost Boys which airs August 5th.
