It's official:

Seattle is too fucking small.

I guess it's only official in the sense that I'm sitting in an office and I've declared this. But seriously! Do people have this problem elsewhere? It seems like you can't get more than, like, three degrees of separation, much less six.

yeah, that's sort of why i had to flee from seattle. i think boston is similarly incestuous, but otherwise i haven't experienced it (nyc and so.cal are comfortably big).

That's definitely part of the appeal of New York for me. I like the fact that there are millions of people around to get lost in. I woulda figured that Boston would be similar, but wtf do I know?

no, boston is small like seattle. new york is nice and crowded, but space-wise it is small, so often you walk around and bump into people you know. but it's not like in seattle where you've all slept with each other. haha, or maybe i didn't stay long enough ;)

Yeah, you know sometimes I wonder if it's just the fact that I pretty much stick to the same neighborhoods, and that's why I always see the same people. But last night, I was at a party out in effing Wedgwood, and there were cats that I knew from all over town there.

There's no escape.

I've actually been curious to check Athens out, just for shits & giggles. Perhaps not?

The greater Newport-Mesa area of Southern California is tiny. I found the L.A. "scene" small in the 90s but this is retarculous.

I used to say that all the time in Seattle! However, in some ways, I miss it a teeny bit, because now I feel like I don't have a connection to anyone...:/

Give it time. The walls of SF will start to close around you too ;)
