The Edirol R09 portable MP3 recorder... it's what all radio journalists and lots of musicians and bloggers use to record on the go. It uses SD flash cards and can also be directly via USB cable to your pc/mac.

Awesome! Amazon is selling for $399...which is a bit steep (but so was my PortaStudio 424 cassette 4-track back in the day @ $425)...but the reviews are awesome and it looks like a solid gadget. Wishlisting and hope to own this puppy someday.
