So great!

I love how you made a believable transition from Richard so happy over being free to realizing it seems like the sameness he's watched all his immortality, he just has a definite expiration date now.

But then you beautifully address that issue:

It has been a very long time since he had anything like this. It strikes him finally what it is that he has here. It’s a home, a person to share his life with---a sarcastic, mischievous person who he can’t quite wrap his head around just yet, but a person nonetheless ( ... )

Thank you so much! I imagine readjusting to the real world would be a bit of an emotional roller coaster for Richard. I'm just glad Miles can help him out. ;)

Yay! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I thought it might be a bit too off point, but I couldn't resist an opportunity to make Richard dance. :)

You know, I don't like to throw the word "perfect" around without just cause, but this? This fits the bill entirely. You've done such a wonderful job conveying the emotions -- the joy and the wonder tempered by the repetitive and mundane nature of routine are shown here so well -- and the dynamic between Richard and Miles is beautiful, believable, and so engaging and true to the characters; it's brilliant and stunning, and just... perfect.

Aw, this fic left me with a warm fuzzy feeling. I loved the way you wrote of Richard's elation, then discontent with the everyday sameness of the real world.

And ooooh, Miles' resolution to Richard's boredom was hot! I love the ending too. Very nice. :)
