I love the Others 101, er, one - with its metaphorical syllabus - but I think my favourite is the last drabble with Richard. And Richard has been building ships for years, decades, lifetimes - it's Richard, it's beautiful, it's perfect.
I'm a little bit in love with Richard at the moment. He's such an interesting guy and the idea that's he's been there pretty much forever fascinates me.
Ok, same as bold_seer, my favorites are the last two with Juliet and Richard.
I like how "Others 101" seemed to reference in my mind Sidewaysverse!Ben as a teacher.
There was Latin (which came easily), defense training (which did not), and shooting lessons (which she loved more than she was willing to admit.)Very fitting, I'd say. I say Juliet ended up mastering self defense, so it's interesting to think she really struggled with that before
( ... )
I wasn't sure what to do with the prompt "eyesight", I thought about writing about Sawyer but then I remembered Richard and his ship building. Plus Richard/glasses is like my OTP for him. ;)
The idea of him crossing her name off the wall ticks me off mightily, but I like the idea that it was her defiance that made him do it.
