Ohhh, this is gorgeous, so real and raw and sharp. I never would have thought to put these two together, but it works so well here. The AU itself is kind of breaking my heart, especially the hint that Jo reminds him a little of Dean (maybe?) when she sings along to Journey.

Definitely. At one point, I had a line in the fic where he explicitly stated that she reminded him of Dean, but I cut it cause I knew where the fic was heading and I wasn't comfortable equating Jo with Dean in that particular light. ;) /end impromptu fic commentary
