Pie and Lost News That Doesn't Make Me Ragey

Aug 20, 2009 12:12

1. I made this frozen lemon pie thing last night that was okay. It didn’t set properly for some reason, so that was annoying, but it was edible. I’m going to blame the Neeleys, it was their recipe (although probably not their fault, but they’re so disgustingly happy all the time it makes me feel better to say it was.)

2. My brother wants me to go to ( Read more... )

Heh. My old roommate used to make me cook mashed potatoes all the time because she couldn't do it. It's pretty much the only thing I can make well.

I know right? I would totally pay to see any of the guys from Lost, or Elizabeth Mitchell for that matter *cough-epic girl crush-cough*. Shouldn't she be pimping her wacky new alien show? My brother is psyched about Shatner being there, but The Shat just doesn't do it for me.

Like I need an excuse to write Sawyer/Juliet. ;) I warn you the combination of S/J + food might result in schmoop. Or sex. Probably both.

Everyone looks so blue. I'm not sure what to make of it.

I saw that casting news too and was excited. Too bad Pickett's wife is dead or he could have reunited with Trixie. How many more Deadwood actors will we get by the end?

Do you live near Atlanta? I heard Edward James Olmos and Aaron Douglas talk at the Toronto Fan Expo last year. Oh and Brad Dourif was there too, and he signed my Deadwood DVD!!! This year they have Mary McDonnell and Emma Caufield, but I don't know if I can go yet. It's next weekend.

Oh, man. Why did Sun have to shoot her? I would like to put a vote in for Olyphant and Dourif. I wouldn't say no to Garret Dillahunt either.

I used to live about an hour away when I was in college. I'm sadly back down south now, so now I'm about five hours away. That's not too bad though.

That's awesome! What was Dourif like? I love Doc Chocran (and I'm insanely worried about him atm, he wasn't looking so good in the last episode I watched. I feel I might need tissues soon.)

And we know Ian McShane could come it and kick Ben and Widmore's collective asses.

Brad Dourif was really cool and soft spoken. He told a lot of stories from all his work - Chucky, LOTR, independent films, but sadly not as much from Deadwood. After I stood in line for an autograph and he took a picture with my husband.

Well, if the reset worked *goes to wash mouth out with soap and water at having actually said that* maybe he can?

I love his character so much on Deadwood. I can't wait to see what the actor does in a new role.

My guess is someone with Hanso, the Black Rock or somebody working under Jacob's buddy or the like. I remember them using corporate references for both Jacob himself (I think) and people like Abaddon in the past, so it really could go anywhere.

And I haven't watched Deadwood, but all the cast they've cribbed from there have been great on LOST so far, so I'm eager to see this guy.

He's fantastic on Deadwood, so I'm excited to see him on Lost. I was thinking he might be connected to Hanso or Widmore. I hadn't thought of a Jacob connection, but that could be really interesting. Do you think the name is fake? Ausiello is calling him Lennon.

Yeah, definitely. I don't think I've ever seen a name used in a casting spoiler that actually made it to the show. It seems weirdly ... specific, though. Maybe they're just trying to throw people off the scent by using Lennon, and have everyone scramble for what the meaning could be, lol.

Lemon pie sounds good right now--the heat and humidity are making me feel very "summer is here! (and when is it going away?)." I'm sorry yours didn't set well, but as long as it's still edible, there's hope. I've never made custard, gelatin or meringue pies--no wait, there was a pumpkin pie way back when--so I don't know anything about getting things to set. We're a fruit pie family and those just ooze a bit.

Good luck on the con; I haven't been to one in years and I get homesick thinking about them. There's a big one in Boston I went to once, but going to Boston is a royal pain. It's a pity there isn't anyone you want to see among the guests.

Also, good luck in your battle with the muse. Dollhouse fics and Miles fic sound great, so I hope she cooperates. Now that Lost has gone into time-travel and teleportation, maybe a Deadwood/Lost cross-over is in order. We do seem to be getting the alumni! I hope Mr. Hawkes gets a good part.

I feel you on the summer thing. I can't remember the last time the temperature didn't hit at least ninety. *Sighs* Is it fall yet?

A fellow Dollhouse fan! There's definitely fic brewing in that department. I'm not entirely on board with everything that happened in season one, but I fell in love with nearly all of the characters. And I'm hoping to get a Miles fic up this week (I've been working a couple for awhile now, but the muse was not cooperating last week.)

Sawyer in Deadwood would be priceless. :)
