It was movie franchise marathon night when Emily and I decided to go to the drive-in. Although it’s a little late now, I thought I’d give my thoughts on two summer flicks that might cleanse your palate if you mistakenly stumbled into a showing of Fantastic Four.

I've heard little about this one. Sounds decent

I've heard plenty about how much FF4 sucks which disappoints me to no end. I love the FF4

I feel the same way. As soon as I heard they were going for a "darker" tone, I knew they were screwing up. And really, the previous origin movie really wasn't all that bad.

I agree.

I'm so over this 'darker tone' crap. I'm about ready to call it quits with all the SF shows for that reason

Agreed--I miss shows like Firefly that can be serious, but still ... NOT serious. It's one of the things I love about most of the Marvel movies. The people making DC movies could take a lesson from that!

I wish we had drive ins here. There are quite a few outdoor cinemas in London this time of year but you take a chance with the weather as it can often be cold and rainy! Do they still show the film at a drive in if it rains?

I must go and see MI this weekend.

They still show the movie unless the rain is very hard -- can't really see it, then. Once it got so foggy that we couldn't see the screen, so there's another environmental hazard. Just the same, it's a lot of fun!
