But now we’ve returned to the kind of weather that led to the sale of T-shirts proclaiming “I survived the Blizzard of ‘78” … and if you had one of those shirts, you know “survived” wasn’t an exaggeration.

Lots of people around here have "I Survived the Polar Vortex" shirts from last year.

In other words, I am more completely unprepared for winter than I’ve been at any point in my adult life. And that, dear readers, covers at least two or three Murphy’s Laws, guaranteeing that we are going to have one of the coldest, snowiest winters since the early eighties.

Hmm... maybe... I still think it'll be hard to top last year.

LOL, I know I shouldn't laugh. But in my defense it was hilarious. :D

I live in Western North Carolina and we still haven't had any snow yet. The coldest it has been was the other night at 5 degrees. And then it warmed back up into the 20s and 30s

After all, that was the idea!

Five degrees was better than our minus ten or so from a few days ago ... but we get that just about every year. Five degrees in North Carolina, on the other hand -- I mean, that's one of the states I've considered moving to for winter avoidance!

North Carolina really isn't the state you want to be in to avoid winter. We're usually hit pretty hard(at least in this part of the state)

May I recommend South Carolina? The winters there are usually pretty mild. (I lived there from the time I was 16 until I was 28)

Yeah, I saw your post about your job situation ... I can't think of many things more stressful than not knowing about that. I hope things get a little more even for all of us soon.
