I’m sure some writers approach public appearances with the confidence of TV’s Richard Castle, who swaggers into every room like he has the world by the keyboard. Then again, maybe not … Castle seems to have become a bestselling novelist without ever actually writing. In other words, he’s every writer’s dream ( Read more... )

Ignore the voice! You write well and got your dream of being published by working for it.

Castle is the fiction and even there sometimes he's shown as struggling to get through writer's block. Real writers have to work at it. It's not really a job someone can just do without putting a lot of hours in.

Don't doubt, you worked and you deserve to be in the ranks of published authors.

Oh, I don't doubt ... much. :-) And although I can criticize the show for an unrealistic portrayal of a writer's time, Castle is still one of my favorite shows -- so much fun!

You are not alone with these doubts. then again all you need are people like me who are doomed the moment you make eye contact with them.

eye contact? I went for close to 20 years without ever making eye contact with anyone -- I was that painfully shy. Now I'm better, which is to say I learned how to fake it. I think a lot of writeers are that way.

You are a good writer otherwise I would never have friended you on Lj ;)

Also - your subconscious is like a small child and should be ignored.

Also - you look like you have lost weight (fewer portions of chips and dips?)

:)

Actually, that uniform is oddly slimming -- and I've gained a bit of weight since that photo was taken, thanks to all this sitting at the keyboard stuff. I've dropped a few pounds over the last couple of months, but that's awfully hard for me to do when the weather gets colder.
