10,000 writing updates

Hit the 10,000 words on the sequel! Of course, this is just the rough draft: There’s nothing to say I won’t decide half those words are junk and throw them out later. On the other hand, some areas are a little sparse on detail: I wrote half a page of just dialogue during … well, I won’t say during what. think of your first draft as an outline (if you dont outline like me)...yes, you may throw away half of it but know you have a much better idea of how to write a tighter second draft

i do outline, actually -- I learned my lesson, with all those half completed stories. But a first draft is *never* a final draft.

Really? Eek! Well, that's the problem with a "Storm" motiff for my titles -- they've been done. I never even thought about it with Storm Chaser, but after publication I discovered mine was the latest in a long line of books with that name.

Hm ... "The Notorious Ian Grant".

yes well I suspect unless you pick something long and odd, you stand the chance of being the 8th book with that title

Not being able to copyright a title is both a blessing and a curse. Originally I was going to title Storm Chaser "Gone With the Wind" ... probably wouldn't have worked to my advantage.
