 I have this ongoing fantasy that whenever I have to recover from an illness or injury it will give me plenty of time to write, or at least read. I'm always behind on both, so it seems like the perfect opportunity

Oh no - I hope the pain goes away soon! I suppose it’s such a small area that there’s probably lots of swollen tissue that needs to calm down. Do ice packs help?

A little… the ice doesn’t seem to get down to the problem area very well.
