If you want to try and get that ghost in the pic for your book, let me give you a few tips from my time in paranormal research.
1st don't let your attention to focus on detail take center stage. Take some photos for the sake of taking them.
2nd. Rely on your intuition. At times attention is drawn to a space we don't necessarily think is all that interesting because the reason shows up later after developing.
3rd. You aren't likely to see much on the digital camera's screen. So take time to look at the images on the computer. Enlarge them and play with the contrasts a bit, ou may be surprised by what you find.

Then again, maybe you won't. But if you're going to spaces that have reported activity, it is more likely.

Actually, those are pretty close to my rules for photography even without the ghosts! I've gotten better pictures out of a thousand snapshots than with a dozen carefully composed photos.

I would assume most of the places around here with haunted reputations are just the products of old stories and powerful imaginations. Just the same, it would be a mistake to chalk them all up to that--it's a strange world.
