That Winter Driving Thing Again

Over here my pet peeve at the moment is people failing to indicate to show where they intend to drive the car. In a country with many roundabouts and urban roads with turnoffs it’s REALLY annoying!!

I've been known to roll down my window and yell, "Say, did you notice that little stick on your steering wheel? Probably not. If you move it up, lights come on on the left side of your car. If you move it down, they come on on the right side. Isn't that AMAZING?"

That's assuming I can get beside him at a stop sign, or something like that. Otherwise I just yell out more rude words.

The usual answer to snow on our island is to stay home... unless you are under 40 and own a quad bike, in which case your main aim in life it to get past the road closure barriers at the bottom of the mountain roads and get up to a point near the summit of the only actual, over 2,000ft, mountain where you are in the field of vision of the Dept of Transport weather watch webcam...

In January someone did a very commendable rendition of a cock and balls that it took the DoT almost 24 hours to notice on the camera feed because they were busy trying to make all the main routes safe for the rest of us to drive on. Then they blacked it out on the camera which caused more laughter and remarks than the original art work did :)

Hah! That might be worth the trip. As for me, I have to get to work regardless, but otherwise I'm perfectly happy to just stay at home.
