daicon_oroshi - Love the artwork! There's both this sense of movement and a moment frozen in time -- a very intense, emotionally overwhelming moment with two characters on the brink. I like the balance of power -- even though Toby is on top, arm raised to strike, Chris has this defiant expression his face. There's a challenge between them.
lisacali - This story, particularly the end, hit me hard. I like the "meet cute" and somewhat slow build up and then the rug getting ripped out from underneath. There's this great feeling of tension and dread as the FBI breaks down who Chris is for Toby and reality starts to sink in (nice use of time jumping to fill in the blanks). The strong emotional notes all work together to show the complexity of what's going through Toby's mind and heart. And at the end there's that understanding, that self awareness of what he can't let go even if he should know better -- then again when has love ever made sense?
Thanks so much for the comments. I'm glad the glad the flashbacks worked out - I had them italicized but forgot to code for LJ. So pleased you like, thanks again!
And the fic - I haven't read Oz fic in ages, but when I saw it was Lisa's I knew I had to read this. I loved it! Reminded me of the wonderful old B/K fics from Oz's heyday - I felt very nostalgic reading this. And it had everything that I love about this pairing, no matter what the universe.
Lisa - fascinating, this alternate universe that's a sort of heightened reality. Of what they are, of what they are capable. I loved the hopeful ending.
