Rukia is also so not dead because this is _Bleach_. No one really dies in _Bleach_.

Kaien is really a great character, though; such a powerful offscreen presence, and this tiny glimpses we get of him in flashbacks are effective.

Haha, it's so true! Kubo! You've got to kill someone to maintain some sort of credibility!

I really want to reread the Kaien flashbacks from Soul Society, except right now, staring too long at my monitor makes me queasy (ugh).

I love how, when we get to see more Kaien, he is so clearly a Shiba. Yay. (Also yes Rukiayay headsinjaryay.)

Yay Shiba clan! (sadly, I had to look that up in Wiki, as I have such a horrible memory for all the names in Bleach)
